Adult Day Services Adult Day Care of Calvert County, Inc. Goals & Objectives The primary goal of Adult Day Care of Calvert County is to enhance and maintain the health, functional independence, and general well-being of frail elderly and disabled adults in Calvert County, through community-based health care, nursing interventions, social and recreational programs, advocacy and support services. The program will be administratively structured to provide these services to all eligible participants regardless of their financial status or ability to pay, without discrimination as to race, color, national origin, sex, religion, or handicapped condition. The purposes of the organization are: 1. To provide structured setting(s) in which the moderately or severely impaired adult can obtain medical and social therapies, recreational and educational activities, nutritional supervision, and the opportunity to engage in peer group exchange. 2. To avail the family or caregiver of these impaired adults respite from the responsibilities of constant supervision for their loved ones; to allow these care providers the opportunity to pursue careers or outside interests while their disabled relatives are being assisted in a positive and nurturing environment. 3. To cooperate with all agencies and professional groups who may be interested in the welfare of impaired adults. 4. To solicit and receive funds for the accomplishment of these objectives. 5. To promote, aid, and assist the goals and purposes of the Maryland Association for Adult Day Services, and other associations, groups, organizations, and corporations with similar objective, purposes and goals. Statement of Philosophy The Adult Day Care Corporation of Calvert County (Adult Day Services) is a nonprofit, non-sectarian corporation designed to provide services and activities to frail and impaired adults. The Corporation believes that every adult has the right: 1. To be treated as an adult, with dignity and respect 2. To an atmosphere of sincere interest and concern 3. To participate in an individually designed program planned to encourage learning and growth 4. To be encouraged and supported in maintaining his or her independence to the extent that medical conditions and circumstances permit 5. To privacy and confidentiality The Corporation will: 1. Approach each person as a unique individual with his or her own strengths and weaknesses 2. Assume a holistic approach to the individual, recognizing the interrelationship among the physical, social, emotional and environmental aspects of well-being 3. Work closely with family members to help them cope more effectively with the many strains and pressures of maintaining an impaired person in the home
